Rogers RO4003C,RO4350B material specification

rogers 4350 and RO4003C produced by Rogers PCB are very mature products, and their dielectric constants have not changed. The manufacturing process values are 3.48 ± 0.05 and 3.38 ± 0.05 respectively, and the design values are 3.66 and 3.55, respectively. The characteristics of dielectric constant vary with frequency, so it is necessary to design and simulate according to the actual application frequency.

RO4003C materials are proprietary woven glass reinforced hydrocarbon/ceramics with the electrical performance of PTFE/woven glass and the manufacturability of epoxy/ glass.  Offered in various configurations, RO4003C utilizes both 1080 and 1674 glass fabric styles with all configurations meeting the same laminate electrical performance specification.
RO4003C provides tight control on dielectric constant and low loss while utilizing the same processing method as standard epoxy/glass but at a fraction of the cost of conventional microwave laminates. Unlike PTFE based microwave materials, no special through-hole treatments or handling procedures are required.
RO4003C materials are non-brominated and are not UL 94V-0 rated. For applications or designs requiring a UL 94V-0 flame rating, RO4835 and RO4350B laminates do meet this requirement.

R04350B is a patented hydrocarbon resin system / ceramic filler reinforced by woven glass cloth. Its electrical properties are very close to PTFE / woven glass cloth material, and its machinability is similar to that of epoxy resin / glass cloth material.

R04350B can use the standard epoxy / glass cloth processing technology, while providing strictly controlled permittivity and loss at a fraction of the price of traditional microwave materials. There is no need for special through-hole pretreatment or operation procedures like PTFE based microwave materials.

R04350B material has passed UL 94V-0 fire rating for active equipment and high voltage RF design.

Typical Applications
High reliability aerospace and defense
A wide range of typical and non-traditional microwave/RF applications

Cellular base station antenna and power amplifier

Microwave point to point connection (P2P)

Automotive radar and sensors

Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags

LNB for live satellite

What is the difference between rogers 4350 and ro4003c?

The performance of ro4350b and ro4003c is basically similar. The nominal value of dielectric constant of RO4003C is 3.38 ± 0.5, the recommended value of circuit design: 3.55, and the loss factor/tan6: 0.0027/0.0021. RO4350B dielectric constant manufacturing nominal value: 3.48 ± 0.05, circuit design recommended value: 3.66, loss factor/tan6: 0.0037/0.0031. The performance parameters of ro4350b and ro4003c are not very different. The main difference is that RO4003C is halogen-free, which is more environmentally friendly.
