Compared with external antennas, built-in antennas such as PCB antenna, FPC antenna and LDS antenna have their own unique product forms. These three can not be regarded as differences, each has its own advantages and applications.

Cellular / WiFi multi band embedded flexible PCB antenna

PCB antenna is widely used in single band module circuit boards such as Bluetooth module, WiFi module and ZigBee module.

Advantages: the cost is very low, and there is no need to debug again after one debugging.

Disadvantages: suitable for single frequency band, such as Bluetooth and WiFi. There will be some deviation in the performance of PCB antennas in different batches.

FPC antenna

It is equivalent to pulling out the antenna line on the PCB and making the antenna with other external metal. It is usually used in medium and low-end mobile phones and intelligent hardware products with complex frequency bands.

Advantages: it is applicable to almost all small electronic products and can be used as complex antennas with more than ten frequency bands. It has good performance and low cost.

Disadvantages: it needs to be debugged separately according to each product.

LDS antenna LDS antenna is an evolved version of FPC antenna with high space utilization. FPC line is stamped out. It must be flat and cannot punch out complex shapes. FPC antenna is a whole plane. Although it can be bent, it can not be too complex. LDS antenna carves the pattern of the antenna by laser, which is very suitable for applications with compact internal space. Advantages: it can make full use of various irregular surfaces in the three-dimensional space and reduce the volume of the antenna. Disadvantages: the price is expensive, one order of magnitude more expensive than FPC antenna, and there are many special requirements for the process of the outer surface of the product.
