How many unit boards should be included in a jigsaw? This quantity problem needs to be determined according to the actual situation. In principle, the more the number, the better, the more the number, the less time a single PCB will lose on the track, and the equipment The higher the utilization rate; at the same time, the more the number of panels, the higher the utilization rate of materials used in PCB manufacturing, and the cost will be reduced accordingly. Of course, this also has a limit. Sometimes with the increase in the number of puzzles, the material cost of the unit board will increase instead, which is mainly due to the limitation of the equipment capacity of the Shenzhen circuit board manufacturer. How many unit boards need to be included in a specific puzzle board may need to be considered from the following aspects:

1. The capacity of the equipment, the maximum PCB size that the equipment can produce (print or mount). Within this maximum allowable size range, it is possible to include as many unit boards as possible.

2. PCB thickness, if the thickness of the PCB board is small, it is necessary to consider the deformation of the entire board during reflow or wave crest. Therefore, the size of the jigsaw board needs to be considered to reduce the impact of PCB deformation on the assembly quality.

3. Whether fixture assisted production. For PCBs with small thickness, if there is fixture assisted production, the size of the panel can also be relaxed, but this may involve cost growth.

4. Whether the production operation is easy or not, too large a size may cause operational safety issues, which are also issues that need to be considered.

Connection point shape & size

It is necessary to design an appropriate connection between the internal unit boards of the jigsaw, between the unit board and the process edge, which can ensure sufficient strength support during the production process, but also needs to consider that after the assembly is completed, the removal of the process edge and the connection point is simple and easy to operate, And will not cause other quality problems.

The design of the connection point generally has three main forms (as shown in the figure below): V-Scoring, stamp hole and conventional connection. Which method to use is determined mainly based on your own equipment production capacity: if there is no automatic splitting equipment, but only manual splitting, you can consider using V-Scoring or stamp hole connection; if you use mechanical equipment for splitting Process, any design is possible.

1. V-Scoring design: Usually this angle is maintained at 30°, 45° or 60°, and the thickness of the center of the incision is generally 0.5mm, which can be trimmed according to the actual situation. If the shape of the jigsaw is large and the components on the board are heavy, and there is a concern that the process edge will break and affect the production, the thickness can be appropriately increased. On the contrary, if there are no such concerns, the burr of the sub-board will be too large to affect the assembly, and the thickness can also be appropriately reduced.

2. The design size of the stamp hole can refer to the figure below. The design principle of the aperture and hole distance is the same as that of V-Scoring. It is generally used for manual splitting design. It is necessary to consider sufficient strength in the production and assembly process and the ease of splitting.

3. Ordinary connection design generally has no concerns about strength, only the subsequent sub-board problem needs to be considered. This kind of connection needs to use mechanical equipment to assist analysis, such as Punch, Router, etc. The recommended size is shown in the figure below, and the efficiency of subsequent sub-boards needs to be considered.
