In 2010, the rail transit passenger traffic sharing rates in Beijing and Shanghai were 24.41% and 31.82%, respectively, an increase of 2.87 and 6.13 percentage points from 2009. In the same period, the passenger share of Tokyo and London reached 80%. The domestic rail transit industry still has huge room for development, but the core equipment research and development capabilities still lag far behind the international level. How to speed up the overall research and development level of domestic equipment is a problem that needs to be solved urgently.
