Today, mainland China has become an important base for global PCB production. At present, PCBs are widely used and market demand mainly comes from four areas.

One is consumer electronics dominated by smart phones. 5G technology has triggered a wave of smart phone replacements, and the rise of wearable devices such as TWS headsets and smart watches has prompted a significant increase in the demand for corresponding PCBs. Prismark predicts that by 2025, the output value of PCBs used in smartphones will reach approximately $19.4 billion.

The second is server and data storage. With the rapid development of global cloud computing, the demand for cloud infrastructure such as servers and data centers continues to expand, and the corresponding PCB usage increases accordingly. Prismark predicts that the output value of PCBs used in servers and data storage will reach 8.9 billion US dollars by 2025, with an average annual compound growth rate of 8.5% from 2020 to 2025.

The third is automotive electronics. The high volume of new energy vehicles gives new space for automotive PCBs. GF Securities predicts that global new energy vehicle shipments will reach 12 million units by 2025, and the annualized compound growth rate of new energy vehicle shipments from 2020 to 2025 will exceed 30%; At the same time, the amount of mid-to-high-end PCBs for new energy vehicles has increased significantly, thereby increasing the value of bicycle PCBs. According to agency estimates, the value of PCB for traditional fuel vehicles is 500 yuan, while that of new energy vehicles is more than 4500 yuan, an increase of 800%. It is estimated that the global automotive PCB market space will reach 59.18 billion yuan and 67.39 billion yuan in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

Fourth, it is a communication facility based on wired and wireless network infrastructure such as 5G base stations. Also benefiting from the advent of the 5G construction period, the communication PCB will continue to be released, but due to the impact of the US trade friction and the global epidemic, demand will be under pressure in the short term. Guojin Securities predicts that the PCB market for 5G base stations this year will decline by 22% year-on-year. However, in the long run, based on factors such as the continued construction of 5G base stations, the recovery of overseas epidemics will promote a new wave of infrastructure construction, and the follow-up of wired network construction, communication PCBs still have growth momentum.

According to the Prismark report, the output value of PCBs used in wireless infrastructure construction is expected to reach US$3.7 billion in 2025, with an average annual compound growth rate of about 6.8% from 2020 to 2025.

China Business Industry Research Institute predicts that the global industry output value will reach 68 billion U.S. dollars in 2021.

Among them, HDI and FPC products will occupy a dominant position. Relevant data shows that the compound annual growth rate of the output value of the two from 2020 to 2025 will be 6.7% and 4.2%, respectively. By 2025, the output value will reach US$13.74 billion and US$15.36 billion respectively, accounting for 15.9% of the total global PCB output value. 17.8%.
