**Length unit conversion**Length is a measure of one-dimensional space, the distance from point to point. Usually when measuring the side length of a line segment in a two-dimensional space, the one with a larger length value is called the length, and the one that is not greater than its value or is on the "side" is called the width. Therefore, width is actually a measure of length, so the height that measures "vertical length" in three-dimensional space is length.

**Thickness unit conversion**Thickness refers to the distance between the upper and lower opposite sides of an object, which means "length". The length unit should be used. The commonly used length units are kilometers (km), meters (m), decimeters (dm), centimeters ( cm), millimeters (mm), micrometers (um), nanometers (nm), etc.

PCB usually uses u" as the thickness unit of gold, the standard gold thickness is 1u", and the maximum gold plating thickness of iPCB is 120u".

Oz is the thickness of copper in PCB, 1oz = 35um, 1oz means the thickness of 1kg copper laid on an area of 1 square meter.

The thickness of standard PCB board is usually 0.8mm, 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.6mm(0.063inch).

The thickness of IC substrate is usually 0.1mm-0.3mm, and the thickness of FPC is usually 0.1mm-0.2mm.

**Area unit conversion**

When the space occupied by an object is a two-dimensional space, the size of the space occupied is called the area of the object, and the area can be flat or curved. Square meter, square decimeter, square centimeter, is a recognized unit of area, which can be expressed as (m², dm², cm²) with letters.

Area is a quantity that represents the extent of a two-dimensional figure or shape or plane layer in a plane. Surface area is an analog on a two-dimensional surface of a three-dimensional object. Area can be understood as the amount of material with a given thickness that is necessary to form a model of a shape.

The larger the area of PCB, the more PCB materials will be used, so we often use the area to calculate the price of PCB.
